This re-use project involved turning an existing historic residence (located in Prince William County) into a golf and conference center. The conversion involved adding a commercial kitchen, meeting rooms, an arts and crafts room, and classrooms for community activities. Included in the renovation was the replacement of both mechanical and electrical systems along with the rehabilitation of an existing abandoned elevator.
The design was a successful meshing of the new owner’s requirements for the building with the structure’s original, residential purpose. The building’s exterior was preserved in accordance with local authorities.
